Wishing Well was the dream of Founder Brendan Groves and the students of Pepperdine University. Inspired by the works of Blood water mission, they decided to embark on a journey to change the world, not only in Africa, but in America as well. Since 2006 Wishing Well has raised thousands of dollars and built several wells through means of creative fundraising that got students involved.

In fall of 2006 Oklahoma Christian University started its own chapter of Wishing Well co-directed by Ryan Groves and Jason Harvey. This branch has taken a strong focus on art not only as a means to raise money, but influence culture.
